I am from endless books,
Acoustic guitars,
And a full pantry.
I am from a beautiful flower garden,
Circling the yard with an array of intermixing colors.
I am from dog toys and tiki torches,
I am from grass and pavement.
I am from Franklin School,
I am from pizza market,
The sweet slumber of West Newton at night.
I am from Uncle Chris,
I am from Road Island with the Hydes.
I am from Galen, talking to me every year.
I am from “Get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.”
I am from “I’m not in the mood for this right now!”
from “I love you, goodnight sweetie.”
I am from huge thanksgiving turkeys,
from tiramisu and mashed potatoes,
From food that makes my mouth water
Every time I think about it.
I am from under my bed,
I am from in my closet,
I am from my computer and from my kitchen drawers,
Hiding little pieces of paper
With little secrets
And little emotions.

grr.
My father is incredibly scary when angry.
REALLY. SCARY.
Past weekend definitely in the running for best weekend ever. EV-ER.
Stop asking me for things. Stop bribing me with chocolate and then telling me to get in the pool. I don't want to go in the pool, I was already in the pool, and now I am obviously not in the pool anymore. I chose to be out of the pool, and if I don't finish this HP book, someone is bound to spoil it for me. I am basking in the sun, leave me alone. Also, on the ride home, you started bitching and moaning about how you wanted water. We told you that it would be 10 minutes before you could get it, but no, "I want it now! Mommy, I want water! Im really thirsty! I'll screeeEEEEEAaaaAaAAmmmm!" Shut up, kid, we're all thirsty, and crying out like, 45 gallons of tears over something as petty as having to wait 10 whole minutes for a fucking glass of water isn't going to quench your thirst. I hate you. Go die in a puddle. At least then you'd shut up. -Emma

I also miss my computer. like, my laptop totally works well, but like, sometimes I want the memory from it. So I'll get it fixed.
This is going to be a very expensive week.
I love America's Next Top Model.
I miss Ilana and Marissa and Miriam and Zuzia and all the people I haven't seen in forevers. :[
Marissa still has my bathing suit, wtf.
This is me. Sad. Sad me.

...Ew. Don't look at me. I'm hideous // somewhat resemble a frog with bullet holes in it's face and a red dishwashing rag placed convieniently atop my head.
Name: Marissa
Composition: Rocky
Distance from the sun: 65 million miles
Diameter: 2,900 miles
Avg. Surface Temperature: 1150ºF
Number of Rings: None
Number of Moons: None
Length of Day: 136 Earth Days
Length of Year: 59 Earth Days
Trends followed: Marissa is only 65 million miles away from the sun because in our solar system, small, rocky planets are closer to the sun. Also, it has no rings and no moons, because of it’s size and distance from the sun. It has a short year, which also implies it’s one of the hotter planets.
Name: Kara
Composition: Rocky
Distance from Sun: 650 million miles
Diameter: 5,030 miles
Avg. Surface Temperature: 886ºF
Number of Rings: None
Number of Moons: 1
Length of Day: 110 Earth Days
Length of Year: 64 Earth Days
Trends Followed: Kara continues the “Farther from Sun, larger the planet” trend, as it is larger than Marissa, but not larger than Kim. It’s also a Rocky planet and closer than the gas planets. It also continues the “Farther from sun, colder the temperature” trend, as it’s still very hot, but not as hot as Marissa. It’s year is shorter than it’s day, this suggests it’s a hotter planet, closer to the sun.
Name: Kim
Composition: Rocky
Distance from sun: 993 million miles
Diameter: 12,380 miles
Avg. Surface Temperature: 439ºF
Number of Rings: None
Number of Moons: None
Length of Day: 91 Earth Days
Length of Year: 73 Earth Days
Trends followed: Rocky planets are closer to the sun, and the further from the sun, the colder the average surface temperature is. It’s year is shorter than it’s day, this suggests it’s a hotter planet, closer to the sun. This planet is not consistent with the larger that they are, the farther away from the sun, because Miriam is smaller than Kim.
Name: Miriam
Composition: Gas
Distance from sun: 1,999 million miles
Diameter: 7,670 miles
Avg. Surface Temperature: 286ºF
Number of Rings: 2
Number of Moons: 1
Length of Day: 76 Earth Days
Length of Year: 100 Earth Days
Trends followed: I’ve learned that generally, the gas planets are situated father from the sun. Also, as the planets get further from the sun, the surface temperature goes down and the Diameter of the planet goes up. The more moons there are, the bigger the planet. Also, generally only gas planets have rings. It’s year is longer than it’s day, which suggests it’s a gas planet, or farther from the sun.
Name: Ilana
Composition: Gas
Distance from sun: 2,783 million miles
Diameter: 19,470 miles
Avg. Surface Temperature: -293ºF
Number of Rings: 3
Number of Moons: 2
Length of Day: 45 Earth Days
Length of Year: 123 Earth Days
Trends followed: The colder planets are farther from the sun, because in our solar system the planets become colder. Also, the larger they get, the more moons they get, and for gas planets, the more rings. It’s year is longer than it’s day, which implies it’s farther from the sun.
Name: Nuala
Composition: Gas
Distance from sun: 4,286 million miles
Diameter: 24,384 miles
Avg. Surface Temperature: -640ºF
Number of Rings: 7
Number of Moons: 5
Length of Day: 3.5 Earth Days
Length of Year: 598 Earth Days
Trends followed: This is the last planet – from what our solar system tells us, this means it’s the coldest, because the cold planets are always farthest away from the sun. It is also the largest, which leads us to believe it has the most moons and rings. All of these are true – because it’s the largest, this also implies it has the shortest days and the longest years (which is true). It’s a gas planet so it’s far from the sun, and it has rings (because it’s a gas planet).
Mi Viaje a Martha’s Vineyard
By Emma Hyde
Anaranjado 8-1
